This Was Not In the Right Category!

I had done a search for Christian fiction, looking for Christian supsense authors similar to Dee Henderson or Terri Blackstock. This book showed up in the search results and was a free kindle download, so I chose it. However, this author's books should not be listed in a Christian book search on Amazon. Nothing spiritual about this story or the characters and the amount of sexual details were definitely not what I would want to read in a Christian fiction book. Very disappointed that Amazon would include this in a Christian fiction category!

detailed sexual content was a real turn off for me

I could not get past the first two chapters of this book. It reminded me of a true romance novel and it is definitely not my style. If you like descriptive sex scenes you may enjoy this, however I could not stomach it so I deleted it.

Good characters, not much else

What I Liked: I especially liked the dynamic between the hero and heroine. Despite the lack of character back story, I really enjoyed them both together and apart. They were endearing for me based on what I knew about them. I also really liked the female firefighters twist. That's just Win right there.
What I Didn't Like: It may seem cruel but, everything not mentioned above. I felt the dialog was contrived, the story boring and predictable. The editing was god-awful, I felt there was stuff integral to the story that was omitted for whatever reason, which made the story seem disjointed and random. Finally, while I got a HFN (happy for now), I really wanted the H/h to have a HEA.
Overall Impression: Some parts I enjoyed but ultimately fell flat. The beginning was difficult to trudge through, but the main characters were able to carry me on. While the middle picked up in both interest and pace, I think it was a case of too little, too late. I wanted to like this story more than I did, because I saw all the potential. Unfortunately, I didn't feel that potential was tapped to it's fullest extent. It's pretty much a "take it or leave it" type book. I'm not upset I read it (free and short), but it is very forgettable and for that reason, I personally can't recommend it.
