We decided to have "What Ever Happened 2 My King" re-edited to sail even further; however CRAZY LOVE out to the people out their that allowed the book to captivate them because of the contents and strong points this book makes instead of searching for what editorial mistakes they could find. A God Book is A Good Book and that's something that not even one bad review could take away from the author. The streets wanna be entertained. Life is not a fairy-tale

In WHATEVER HAPPENED TO 2 MY KING, readers are taken on an up close and personal journey into a world where trying to live could mean death as they are shown the life of a young girl who desperately wants to find love; unfortunately, she searches for it in the wrong places. What Ieesha realizes is the more she gives of herself to the men whose livelihood depends on the sell of illegal drugs, the more she loses emotionally, physically and spiritually.
Ieesha finds love with men who have ready cash to spend and admire the fact she is intelligent and carries herself with class. However, they tend to feed on her naiveté in relationships and use her, abuse her and contribute to the demise of her self-esteem. When she decides to not let love cause her any more heartache, she finds herself in a situation that will change her life and maybe put her on the road to self-reliance and strength.
Lakisha N. Smith has written a gritty story of one woman's search for love and all the men she encounters before she finds the one. Her main character suffers so much harm, emotionally and physically, it is a wonder she was able to survive. The portrayal of the hustling game and life in the inner city was enthralling at times and at other times sad. Readers will empathize with Ieesha and her struggle to live in an environment that holds little hope of survival or success. There are many characters in this story, who add to the authenticity of urban life. The pace was good up until near the end where the storyline seems to slow down a bit. The ending was a bit surprising as well. There were other flaws within this novel that had it not been so riveting, could have been fatal. The grammatical and spelling errors and misuse of words were distracting and took away from what could be a very effective piece of work, especially for young girls who see nothing but the bling, cars and money when looking for love with a drug dealer. I do commend the author for giving us a realistic portrayal of urban life and not glamorizing it by showing the consequences of living in this manner. Readers will leave with a lesson learned and a cultural awareness, which make this novel worth reading.

A Must Read!!!!!!!!!

This book is full of drama, love and life's lessons. Lakishia Smith takes the reader into the heart of the city and explores the life of Ieesha McFadden who is looking for true love in the wrong places. What Ever Happened 2 My King is not your everyday coffie table book. Lakishia Smith gives you a raw, unadulterated glimps of survival and struggle.

Good Girl Gone Bad!!

This novel was one of the best that I have had the chance to read! Ieesha was the typical good girl from the projects that all of the fellas wanted because she was so innocent. But like they say, when a good girl is gone bad she may be gone forever and this is what happened to poor Ieesha. After all of the abuse that she went through she started loosing her mind and in the end she took her pain out on the wrong guy. I really loved this novel. I must admit that although Ieesha made me mad at times being so stupid, I did cry several times while reading this book because some of the things that men did to her; no one should have to go through, but in the end she did wake up and I was so glad! I do recomend this book to anyone out there that is looking for a fast pace street novel that keeps it real from the beginning til the very end. I also believe that a dude would love this book as well because many of the main characters are guys as well and to me it seemed like the author really did know the game inside and out. Loved this book and cannot wait to read more from Lakishia Smith, Great Book!!
